I purchased these shorts for the pockets and fuel stash areas. I used them for a half marathon and I was able to bring my gels in the mesh pockets on the side and they stayed in place. The back pocket is big enough to fit a phone however I don't suggest anyone actually put their phone as the waistband is stretchy and the extra weight causes some unwanted bouncing in the back.

Very breathable, light weight. Its my go to for running these days. Would have been better if the back pocket had more elastic (?) So that the content doesn’t move much when running.
